There are a couple steps that need to be taken in order to transfer your music to another distributor:
- Use the Catalog Export tool to download all of the metadata and audio and artwork files associated with your published releases.
- Next, you’ll need to upload your releases using a new distributor. Please remember that in order to maintain your play counts, all metadata and assets used for the new versions need to match with the Level versions, including the ISRCs that were generated in Level.
Eventually you’ll need to take down the Level versions of your releases. We suggest waiting until the new versions are live and the streams have synced prior to initiating the takedowns on Level, this takes approximately 72 hours after your release has been successfully submitted and scheduled at your new distributor. However, we highly recommend consulting your new distributor, as they may have their own protocol for moving releases over to them.
Once you’re ready to initiate your takedowns, check out this article to get started. If you don’t do this yourself, we will automatically take them down for you on November 18, 2024.
