When we first built Level back in 2018, it was our top priority to create a platform that directly served the independent artist community. In order to make sure we were prioritizing artist’s needs appropriately we introduced Level Beta, a program that allowed us to work directly with artists and learn how to best serve their music.
Thanks to the insight provided by the Level Beta program we were able to officially launch Level in 2019. In an effort to continue learning from our artist community, upon launch, we introduced Level Free. This was a limited distribution service tier that allowed artists to test their releases on the Level platform at no cost to them.
On January 14, 2021, with an established concept of what Level is and how we can best tailor it to support independent artists, we made the decision to sunset the Level Beta program and the Level Free tier. This allowed us to focus on improving the overall distribution process while also providing every Level artist with dedicated support for their music.
What happens to my music if I was using Level Beta or Level Free?
All releases submitted and/or published before January 14, 2021 will be unaffected by these changes. If you plan to release more music, you will need to start a Level Premium subscription. Click here for more information on pricing.
